The Columbia Granger's World of Poetry - Covers literary information about poets and poetry; includes both full-text articles and citations.

Credo Reference - Offers online access to 100 reference books; examples of the type of books include: dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, factbooks, census information and much more. A great place to find quick facts and basic background information on virtually any topic.

CQ Electronic Library - Research tool covering topics in the social and political arena; offers in-depth coverage.

EBSCOhost - Powerful online reference system that offers a variety of proprietary full-text databases and popular databases from leading information providers. Covers virtually every area of academic study.

Encyclopedia Britannica - Provides answers to a multitude of questions with standard encyclopedia entries and leads users to additional information about their topics through related articles, links to outside Web sites, and bibliographies.

FirstSearch - Use to find books, articles, films, computer software, and other types of material on the subject needed.

Global Road Warrior - Offers cultural and country overview information on 175 countries; includes information on demographics, society and culture, health and medical, communications, transportation and much more. Great resource for those doing research on aspects of foreign countries or for those planning to travel internationally.

LAWCHEK - A reference source to assist the public with a basic understanding of the law. 

LearningExpress Library - Source for test preparation materials and interactive practice exams based on official tests.

LexisNexis - Allows easy access through the Web to thousands of full-text newspapers, magazines, journals, and legal information. 

Literature Resource Center  - Includes biographical, bibliographical and contextual information information for authors and specific works and offers criticism from the Contemporary Literary Criticism databases.

NetLibrary - A collection of over 16,000 electronic books. 

ProQuest - Provides powerful, convenient search and retrieval, right from the desktop, to one of the world's largest collections of information, including summaries of articles from over 8,000 publications, with many in full-text, full-image format.


Ask the Cybrarian

The Cybrarian offers online reference assistance. When you submit a question to the "Cybrarian" you are contacting the reference librarian at the Norma Wood Library. Please take advantage of this service any time you have a question about how to begin your research, where to find sources for an assignment, how to access library resources from off-campus or any other academic-related questions you might have.


Library Database Tutorial

The library now offers a free non-credit library database tutorial via Blackboard for any student enrolled at ASUMH. Features PowerPoint presentations on how to use library databases, short quizzes to help you master the content, and printable help sheets.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) - Bibliographic database provides coverage on subjects such as librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more  to anyone interested in libraries and information management. 

Teacher Reference Center (TRC) - Index of over 260 titles from the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals, periodicals, and books.
