Beginning in June, 2010, if you wish to receive a student loan, you will receive this loan through the Direct Lending Program (federal government as your lender) There will be absolutely no loans made except direct lending from this point forward; therefore, you will no longer be asked to select a lender.
If you receive a loan through direct lending, you will be required to complete a new Master Promissory Note and a new Entrance Interview—even if you have already gone through this process. To complete this process, you should go to: www.studentloans.gov
There you can do your MPN and Entrance Interview, plus there is much more information regarding your student loans available to you.
Parents who wish to apply for a PLUS loan may also check out this website and apply on line.
For those students who are interested in a private loan, you need to check out the website of your lender choice to seek out information or to apply. Two sources we are aware of are: www.discovercard.com or www.salliemae.com
