The goal of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is to help finance your Arkansas State University – Mountain Home (ASUMH) education. We offer free guidance to anyone applying for grant and scholarship funding from a variety of sources. Education is how dreams come true. The staff of the Scholarships and Financial Aid Office is here to help you seek the finances to make your dreams into reality. We can help you apply for assistance from a variety of sources. The How to Pay for College booklet is a very useful tool to start your journey seeking assistace to pay for college.  This booklet describes the assistace available from the Federal Government, State of Arkansas, and other sources.

The ASUMH Satisfactory Academic Progress policy must be maintained to continue receiving federal aid as well as some other types of assistance you may have been offered.  Your academic performance is checked against this policy at the end of every Summer, Fall and Spring semester. Knowledge of continuing eligibility reqirements for sources of aid offered by sources outside ASUMH are the resposibility of the student.

All students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa annually for each academic year using the ASUMH school code 042544 to apply for aid from the U.S. Department of Education. Each academic year begins in August and the FAFSA should be completed each spring for the next academic year.  The FAFSA is used to apply for Federal Grants, Loans, and Work Study.  The FAFSA is used by ASUMH, the state of Arkansas and other entities that offer assistance to determine eligibility.

STATE AID

Arkansas residents should apply for grants and scholarships from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) at https://sams.adhe.edu/.  The application opens October 1st for the following academic year that begins in August and the deadline to apply is June 30th for most assistance.  Some assistance is available year round at https://sams.adhe.edu/. All Arkansas residents are encouraged to reapply annually for aid even if you did not previously qualify.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are available from a variety of sources.  ASUMH has scholarships available by simply being a current student or submitting your application for admissions.  Below are links to information about scholarships, some of which are specific to ASUMH.

• SEARCHING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS can be overwhelming.  ASUMH has collected a variety of search engines and helpful tips to search for scholaships.

  
  

• ASUMH ACADEMIC DISTINCTION is our primary scholarship available to first time entering college freshman who apply within a year of receiving a high school or home school diploma or GED.

  
  

• ASUMH FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS are determined by scholarship committees across the ASUMH campus.  Current students and students who have applied for admissions by March 15th annually are considered. Most of these scholarships require no separate application unless a committee reaches out to you individually to apply. 

  
  

• SCHOLARSHIPS FROM OTHER SOURCES are everywhere. ASUMH has collected a variety of links to scholarships we have seen from our community, region, state and beyond.

  
  

• MOUNTAIN HOME PROMISE scholarship offered by the Mountain Home Education Foundation is available to recent Mountain Home High School graduates who apply for admissions to ASUMH within a year of graduation.

  
  

• CAREER PATHWAYS is available to some students who are also a parent with children under age 21 living at home.

  
  
  

MILITARY CONNECTED ASSISTANCE
