Basinger Competes in Cisco NetRiders USA/Canada IT Skills

ASUMH Graduate Represents Arkansas in the Cisco NetRiders USA/Canada IT Skills Competition

Taylor Basinger, representing the state of Arkansas, recently competed in the Cisco Network Academy 2014 NetRiders USA/Canada IT Skills Competition.  The NetRiders competition provides students with hands-on practice and experience in a competitive environment, a chance to test their skills, showcase their knowledge, and interact and compete with fellow students at an international level.

To qualify, Taylor successfully passed a two-part comprehensive exam consisting of a theoretical exam and a network simulation exam.  Taylor demonstrated strong IT skills and networking knowledge and advanced to the Round Two – Finale.  Upon completion of the Round Two – Finale, Taylor ranked 21st overall from a field of over 100 competitors from the United States and Canada.

Taylor graduated from Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) in May with a Networking Specialist emphasis in the Information Systems Technology degree.  ASU-Mountain Home offers the Cisco Networking Academy as a stand-alone program for individuals interested in learning networking skills and preparing for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam. The program can also serve as the cornerstone of a two-year degree in networking.
