Computers for Seniors and Computer Security Classes Offered through ASUMH Community Education

Don Blair, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) Community Education instructor and computer expert, will lead six-week beginner computer classes for seniors as well as a computer security course.  Beginning Computers for Seniors will be held on Fridays from 1:00-3:00 p.m., July 11-August 15.  Course topics include, “What is this machine and what will it do?” “How do I use a mouse and keyboard?” “What is Windows and why do I need it?” “What are files and folders and how do they work?” “What is email and how does it work?” and “What is Facebook?”

Computer Security, an important class for any internet user or small business owner, will meet from Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m., August 23-October 3.  The course will focus on the importance of computer security, including what hackers do, the tools they use, types of cyber-attacks, what all internet users need to know to protect themselves, security for kids, threats to smartphones, and more.

The fee for each of these courses is $50.  To register for this class and learn more about ASUMH Community Education courses, call (870) 508-6280.
